Fantastic Mr FOX: movie review

The movie is about a clever fox living under a tree with his with his family around farm lands, he survives by steeling form three different farms to support his family. Mr Fox is very clever in a way that he can come up with ideas of getting what he wants and when he gets caught he always find a way to rescue himself and others. Although Mr Fox is clever, the three farmers  Boggis, Bunce, and Bean-one fat, one short, one lean  are very cruel people who can kill for what they love, especially the products of their farms. The three farmers very popular in their area with different personalities, each one with his own. They are not on the same level of intellect and even though one of them is clever, he still cannot match with Mr Fox. Mr Fox is very clever but at the end he pays a price for his deeds by losing his tail on the farmer’s ambush.

The movie and books both tells the same story but not accurately as the setting and incidents are not corresponding. On the book Mr Fox loses his tail and his knows that he went steeling where as in the movie he was hiding to his wife that he is still steeling from the farms. In the movie it is stated that Mr for creeps down into the valley in the darkness of the knight and helped himself where as in the movie he was accompanied by someone. The movie adds scenes that modifies the story making it interesting to watch and to emphasis certain scenes where as in the book things are kept short with exaggerations. Although some parts of the story are not similar, the whole story stays the same from the begging to the end.

I enjoyed the movie very much because it has scenes that triggers emotions and its fun to watch. The scene I enjoyed most on the movie is when Mr asks a wondering animal in the bush and said 'where do you come from ...what are you doing here" then the animal just stared at him , which tells that animals do not reason like human beings which is why Mr Fox stole from the farms. i would recommend this movie for adults and not young children, because there are scenes of violence and theft.

“Uses of PowerPoint in Grade R”

The use of power point in grade is very essential for teachers and learning. This because teachers are able to add features that are needed in their teaching lesson which are not easy to be accessed in a short period.
Power point can also help in saving time and reduce hard work such as using shapes that would need the teachers or learners to use big boxes that can cause confusion and destruction.
To support my suggestion here is a link to my power point presentation.

My schooling and use of technology concerning ICT intergration barries in South Africa.

In my understanding, the ICT integration barriers are the causes for the failure to integrate ICT in the South African education system which is usually caused by various reasons, such as incompetency of educators in schools more especially in the public schools. South Africa`s development in education seems to be taking part very slowly due to l ake of resources that can support ICT in schools.
Being suggested by Ertmer (1999) that ICT barriers can be categorised by extrinsic and intrinsic orders. By the extrinsic barriers to the teacher, such as the schools` property, lack of reliable resources has a link to my schooling experiences as I attended a school with no enough ICT related resources for teaching but only had few for management purposes at school and preparing lessons. This means that the lake of ICT integration in my school should have been caused by lacking of enough resources or it can happen that it was because of the intrinsic barriers, such as beliefs in teaching and learning or incompetency of teachers as said by Ertmer (1999). This is because we had computers at school by there were not that much and I had never seen any learner at school engaged with them for any purpose.

In my conclusion I will say that teacher and learning that is practiced primarily on textbooks and direct teaching is not that enough for learners In order to perform at their best because some of the content knowledge cannot grasp content in this method of teaching only, learners need to use the internet and access information at any and not be limited to such times. The ICT would have helped me achieve more than what I achieved, because now I have access to internet and I can get knowledge at any time and even the times that I’m in the mood for studying than waiting for someone to lecture me.

“My final school year at Guduza Secondary School, Mpumalanga province”

My final school year at Guduza Secondary chool in Mpumalanga province.

this is the location of guduza secondary school
I completed my metric in 2013 at Guduza secondary school, which is situated in South Africa in the City of Mpumalanga Nelspruit, Address: 418 Mashonani Trust, Kabokweni 1245, around a small town called Ngodini. The school is in a place called Mashonamini which is an underdeveloped residence were most of the learners face hard times reaching school during rainy season because of a stream that gets flooded, which I was affected too then we had to go around the road. Although we had this problem this school accommodates more learners from the around local areas such as newskom, Zwelisha, Clau-clau which is residing place and other places.
COMMUNITY VIEW

My metric subject are SiSwati Home Language, English First additional Language, Mathematical Literacy, Life Orientation, Life Sciences, Geography and Agricultural sciences. Even though the school is situated in an underdeveloped community without libraries for learners to study most learners manage to pass and get high scores as I passed just by relying on textbooks and teachers. In my school teaches used printers to give us notes and no teaching was done by using computers and internet all we could do was to listen to the teacher when she or he was presenting a lesson and used text books which were not enough for all learners and some of us had to share the textbooks.

In my matric year I enjoyed myself and made friends and studied hard to get my certificate, which is all thanks to the good teachers I had. although my school is situated in a developing community, we were not affected by substance abuse and many learners focused on their studies which led the school having a pass rate  in the following: Admission to Diploma 21, Admission to Higher Certificate 24, Admission to Bachelor Degree 22, Pass NS 0, Pass Endorsed LSEN NS 0. I also think that we should have done better than this, if we had enough libraries and access to the internet in our community.

This is my comment on the TEC blog post entitled “Learning Theories in a Digital Era”. As a student teacher, I think that changes in the education system have a huge impact on teaching and learning with advantages and disadvantages to some part of our country. one of the disadvantages can be that, due to the underdevelopment in South Africa which affects many black South African`s public schools; where teaching does not take place effectively because of poor infrastructure, lack of services and incompetent teachers. It becomes hard for teachers that fail in teaching basic skills such as reading and writing which learners need to interact with ICT to adapt to the newly introduced education system and integration of learning theories. Also the lack of services in South African schools makes it a big challenge to use ICT in our education system. The advantages for a change in the education helps in modernising of our education system and gives learners education that will make them competent with today`s changing life.
Some school have already started using electronic divices for teaching.

Apart from which method of teaching is used in different schools, it is best that educators find a way to evolve themselves to be competent and effective. These can be done by finding a way to teach best by using different teaching methods. Teachers should critical analyse the environment in which their leaners live in and use the learning theories as a tool to unlock the learners` potential. This system should also be introduced in elementary schools so that learners can acquire computer skills at an early age.  Even though there are many learning theories that directs and guides teachers on how to approach teaching, it is not possible that a teacher may master all the learning theories, so teachers should find the one that will be more effective for their teaching as different theories focuses on different learning domains as some may have impact on cognitive development or other domains. The use of ICT can also take place even when there are no expansive facilities, by this my point is that even though some schools do not have campus and projectors they can also take advantage of the use of watts app witch most are using to communicate when having problems with assessments or home works and this will help the learners and teachers to get use in this communication system.
As a student at TEC Siyabuswa campus I would prefer the constructivism theory to my teaching because it touches various development areas such social, cognitive and it involves experiential learning. In conclusion, it is necessary for all teachers and student teachers to commit themselves to develop computer skills to be competent with the newly introduced education system.

service learning reflection (carnival)Image result for carnivalImage result for children carnival games

In this reflection I will be outlining my experience in the carnival and the importance of students to take part in carnivals as future foundation phase teachers. Here I will be reflecting on the experiences I had before when we were still preparing for the carnival. I will also reflect in, which is my experience I had while I was busy with the carnival and reflect on how helpful it was for me and my course as a future foundation phase teacher. In my reflection, I will also mention the challenges that we faced on keeping the children focus and what we did to overcome the challenges.
service learning is a planned and organised activity that enriches education to the community in which students can reflect on to enrich their learning experience. the service learning involves students in community service activity to apply their academic experiences and personal development based on their career.

Describing what happened
When we as a group was preparing for the carnival we can work together as a group and coming up with ideas to make our carnival effective to the learners. We did this by referring to the multiple intelligence proposed by Howard Garden, which argues that every person is intelligent in her/his own way and that if the person gets a good guidance he/she can develop their abilities well. We planned our carnival to accommodate all learners with different abilities to make sure that every learner participates in the carnival. .I have learned that working with a large number of learners one needs to be gentle and caring to the learners to make sure that everything goes according to the plan. As we created different games for the carnival in different groups, it was challenging to keep the learners focused on what we prepared for them. This helps us as students to develop our social skills, emotional skills and management skills by finding solution to such issues. We had to think critically to alter a bit of our games and combine ideas them to come up with that will really excite the learners.

Analysis of why it happened
The carnivals is important to my education because it gave me a chance as a student to experience how it is in life to work with children and learn why is it important to make sure that what I will prepare as a teacher will be effective to the children than doing something that will not trigger the cognitive development of the child, because the games in services also contribute to the development of children. The carnival games gives learners with disabilities an opportunity to interact with other peers since there may have little previous experiences in gross motor play, this can be due to unfair treatment and discrimination to disabled people by others. Friendship also begins due the play in carnivals as learners start to interact with each other and feel secured to be at school.

Theories to improve my practice.
In conclusion, the carnival as part of service learning is very helpful to students and the community as well, because it is part of the student’s course in which they gain experiences that are relevant to their career as future foundation phase teachers. To succeed in our planning, we created games that requires children to think, but the games were not difficult as we planned them by looking at the level of thinking in young children, this help me to plan what is right for the learning of children as it is the role of a teacher to be an Interpreter and a designer. Which means that by reflecting to my experience in the carnival I should know what to prepare for my lessons and how to introduce them to the children. according to constructivism theory it is said that people construct through experience things and reflecting to those things and the service learning is part of a experiential activity where one will acquire new experiences and add it to what he/he already know.

Acting to test the theory in practice
As a university student, i learned theories of children`s development and through that i applied the knowledge i gained to the service learning event. this proves that new experiences does help in the development of a person and one can use what he/she experienced to achieve greatness.

my reflection on the May 2016 carnival

MY UPCOMING LIFE AS A TEACHER
As a future foundation face teacher my goal is to bring change in the wold by giving children good education to enrich their mind knowledge that they can rely on and use it to succeed in in life. i will dedicate myself in improving leaners` literacy in school and outside the school, including participating in community services to help my country move forward.
I believe that all children are capable of learning despite their health which is learning barrier to learners, such as visual, hearing problems and physical disabilities. This means when I teach I should create lessons in different way according to the multiple intelligences, which means that I should create lesson out of pictures, music, using counting objects, take children outside of the classroom to explore nature and learn through all this this things. I will be doing this because some children fail to grasp a certain context in one way, that is why it is important as a teacher make sure that every learner in the understands what she/he has been taught. I should also use bodily associated lessons to accommodate every learner in the classroom. I think teaching is only about teaching learners to write and read only, but teaching is to expose children to help children develop in every way. Teachers help children develop cognitively, social and emotionally. I should give children the opportunity to interact and share ideas with others because it will improve their communication skills and improve their language, than let children sit down in the class quiet and listen to me alone. This can avoid losing concentration and feeling asleep in the classroom and will keep them focus. Allowing children to interact with each other can clear their Zone of Proximal Development because they will be able to figure out their strength and weaknesses. I will inspire learners to care and have patients in school no matter how hard it is for them to learn in the classroom. Teaching is not an ending process which means that I will never stop learning so that I will develop more skills in the teaching profession and be flexible with the curriculum to give children appropriate learning.
When I am a teacher I should not teach learners based on what is expected from them and limit their cognitive thinking. I must give learners the opportunity to explore their imagination and use what they have learned by how they learned it and turn it into something useful. I should show learners that they can learn more than what they expect from themselves and what others say to them, such as being told that you they are not good at anything. This let them know that what people say about them will not affect their learning even if someone told them that they are failures as I was told when I was young, but none of that prevented me from chasing my dreams and today I’m at university because I believed in myself.
My teaching will be helpful to children because I will give them opportunity to socialize and talk to each other and use light humor to create a learning environment that is helpful and suitable for learning. This will help learners to fill safe and excel in their learning. When learners show good performance, answering question and display a good behaviour they will be encouraged by clapping hands so that they carry on doing so, but when learners display bad behaviour they will be a sanction to discourage such behaviour. I will give them challenges that they will have to overcome as peers and Individuals. This will assist them in developing good skills for team work and how to solve problems alone which will be a lesson that will last long in the learner`s memory.
My role as a future foundation phase teacher is to prepare and expose learners to life by means of helping them to adapt to the ever changing world. I should make easier and appropriate ways to help learners adapt in learning and in their environment. I should also make lessons that enables learners to learn more information at the same time to be more adaptable. I should also know how to work together with other teachers, parents and learners to create a more suitable environment for learning in order for learners to learn, than taking teaching as a job for salary. As a leader to children i should also make learners want more than passing at the end of the year, but make want to discover more about education by sharing exciting stories that will help them solve problems and overcome challenges they face by reflecting on my stories that inspires them. This will make learners see something in me that shows them what is good about being educated such as being organised, being well presented in the way i dress and do things and showing confidence when i teach, then they will develop a good attitude towards education and take it seriously. I should be their role model then they can reflect on my life and know that even if i had problems before in my life but that never stopped me from chasing my dreams but i managed to succeed to and that will build them hope and keep them focus. Being collaborative can also teach learners to develop sense of humor and assist others when they are in need and bring change. I should also be open to learners and show care so that they can feel free to ask question, this will help them develop emotionally.

In concluding being require some to skilled for teaching to not mislead learners, teaching needs someone who is willing to give their time to change the world and produce a generation that will be able to stand up for one another as humans and also value everything in this world.
